A certain small black 4-legged creature who shares our home is VERY lucky that his naughty behaviour only lasted the one day! Who would have guessed that after only 2 weeks with us he would notice the absence of Ray so much as to totally forget all his house training? But, that seems to be the only answer for his day of "sin" last Wednesday. (Or, could it be, as doggy behaviourists say, he picked up on my growing frustration which in turn escalated his bad behaviour?)
Whatever, the next day he was back to his perfectly sane, adorable self.
So, his training continues ... He's learning to ride in the back of the car. We've taken him on short rides, and whilst he tried to climb over onto the back seat once or twice, he soon settled down to gnaw his chewy.
Now that he seems comfortable with us we are starting to introduce him to the other dogs in the family and neighbourhood. There's an elderly black lab called Fred who lives up the road, and we introduced them after Fred had just returned from a long hot walk, and he was not impressed at all with Oscar's antics! Maybe, we'll try again when Oscar is calmer and Fred not so tired.
Chester, our oldest son's 5 month golden doodle, came to play and they had a wonderful time rolling over and over - I have a feeling Chester will become a favourite pal.
Then, last weekend we took him to meet Macy, our younger son's year old lab x. Macy is energy plus ... a wonderfully good natured dog, and very happy so long as she gets 5 long walks a day! I think Oscar met his match with Macy ...

A good strong fence and lots of room to tumble around was all those two needed ... we think they liked each other, but it was hard to tell!
